NEW!

Teacher Accounts

Starting February 26, 2014, teacher accounts will no longer accrue fines.  Since materials are checked out for students’ use in the classroom and for teacher enrichment, the library will no longer be assessing fines on materials borrowed.  The cost of any damaged or lost items, plus processing or collection agency fees, will continue to be charged to teacher accounts.  We hope this is helpful to our teachers and homeschoolers.

Civilian Conservation Corps

Do you have a relative who was part of the Civilian Conservation Corps?  Also known as “The Dollar a Day Boys”, these young men constructed and upgraded many state and national parks, as well as participating in other public projects from 1933-1942. This provided jobs to millions of unemployed youth during the Great Depression era.  Bill Jamerson will be portraying an entertaining and informative look at life through the eyes of a CCC worker.  We are fortunate to have Mr. Jamerson here Friday, Mar.14 at 1 pm. Teacher and home schoolers: this would make an excellent American History lesson tie-in.  To see what the Civilian Conservation Corps was all about, view this Iowa Public Television video, featuring Mr. Jamerson:
