Author Mindy McGinnis who wrote the Young Adult book Not a Drop to Drink, which also has a lot of adult appeal, will be at The Mary L. Cook Public Library to speak about her books as well as the process of writing, the steps toward publication for her debut novel, and of course her movie deal!

Mindy has also written a companion book, In a handful of Dust, and four short story books. She is an Ohio Author and has been selected as a Choose to Read Ohio title, and also nominated for the Black-Eyed Susan Award by the Maryland Association of School Librarians. Mindy McGinnis is an assistant YA librarian who lives in Ohio and cans her own food. She graduated from Otterbein University magna cum laude with a BA in English Literature and Religion. Mindy grew up in the wood, and had a deep desire to see if she could survive out there on her own if the situation ever presented itself. That never happened, and the introduction of the internet has quelled that urge. She loves being a writer, because it's the only occupation where you can legitimately stare into space and claim to be working. She is informative and fun to listen to. She also runs a blog for aspiring writers at Writer, Writer Pants on fire. ***********Mindy will have books available for purchase and will autograph them after her program!
