The Mary L. Cook Public Library’s Summer Book Buddies Teens and Young Readers

This summer your child can practice reading at The Mary L. Cook Public Library with a book buddy!  This free enrichment program has been created to help young children (entering grades 1-3) to enhance their reading skills.  Research tells us that kids lose knowledge over summer months.  We have found that summer reading programs can not only help children retain their skills, but can even help them improve.   The program is designed to give kids extra reading practice with a library teen volunteer who will help make reading fun.

The Book Buddies will meet for 30 minute sessions on Monday evenings, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29, July 6, and July 13.  All sessions will begin at 6:45pm and will last 30 minutes.  All sessions   will be held at The Mary L. Cook Public Library (381 Old Stage Rd.).  Ask Kathy Daniels for an application for this program.
