Orange CHILDREN Toddler Time Storytime for children 24 months - 36 months and their caregivers on Tuesdays 10:30 - 11:00 am. We will read a story or two and do fun activities each program. These sessions involve caregivers as active participants. Caregivers are expected to stay with children during all sessions. No registration required.

Baby Bookworms Storytime for children from birth to 24 months and their parent or caregiver on Wednesdays 10:30 -11:00 am. Enjoy great books for babies, learn fun songs and rhymes, and meet other families in your neighborhood. These sessions involve caregivers as active participants. Caregivers are expected to stay with children during all sessions. No registration required. Preschool Storytimes For 3 - 5 year olds including kindergarten on Thursdays 10:30 - 11:00 am. We play games, sing songs, listen to stories and share laughs. Caregivers are not required to stay in the room during storytime. No registration required. *While the recommended ages are listed in the above children’s program descriptions, please know they are a guide and that your child(ren) may continue in the program they started in the fall even if they have a birthday during the course of the program season (September-April). We would be happy to talk with you and help in any way we can! Storytime Superstars for Preschool Storytime Come to storytime at the Mary L. Cook Public Library and get a stamp! When you have 10 stamps on your Storytime Superstar card you will earn a free book. We will keep your Storytime Superstar card here at the library. Look Who’s Reading Book Club (K) Meets on Thursday, February 22 from 4:00 - 4:30 pm. The group will engage in a variety of fun learning activities featuring phonics, the writing of letters and words, and many other skills that promote a strong literacy foundation. Chapters Book Club (grades 1 - 2) Meets on Tuesday, February 13 from 4:00 - 4:45 pm. This group will read a short chapter book a month. Rapid Readers Book Club (grades 3 - 5) Meets on Tuesday, February 20 from 4:00 - 4:45 pm. We will meet and start off with a snack, discuss the book and author and do activities associated with the book. Registration is required for this book club and it is currently full. Paws to Read is a chance for children grades 1st - 5th to read to a nonjudgmental listener. For many children, this allows them a chance to experience stress-free reading; they’re able to relax and have fun! Read with Roo, a 6-yearold retired Greyhound. He and his owner, Jan are certified for therapy through Pet Partners. We will have 15-minute time slots available for children in grades 1st5th on Thursday, February 1 from 4 - 5:30 pm. Registration began January 22. One time slot per child. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your time slot. Miss Kathleen will have books to choose from or you may bring a book from home. Stuffed Animal Sleepover Friday, February 2 from 4:00 - 4:30 pm. For ages 3 years - grade 1. Bring your favorite stuffed animal (just one, please) to the library for a sleepover! Please drop off your stuffed animal between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm on Friday, February 2. On Saturday, February 3 (between 10am - 2 pm), pick up your stuffed animal, and see what kind of mischief your little buddy got into at the library after dark! Required registration began Monday, January 22. Take and Make: Valentines Card Kits Stop by on Monday, February 5 and pick up a Valentine Card kit outside of Miss Kathleen’s office. The kit includes 2 cards, envelopes, stickers and coloring pages. For all ages; while supplies last.

Aladdin - Interactive Movie Kits Available beginning Monday, February 12. Pick up a movie kit at the front desk, available while supplies last. DVDs are available for check out. Each kit has activities and snacks for 4 people. Art Class for Kids Join us on Monday, February 12 to learn about the painting technique, pointillism, & create valentine inspired art. For Grades K-5 from 4:15-5:00 pm. Required registration began Monday, January 29. All materials will be supplied. This class is a collaboration with the Waynesville Arts Council. Tape Town Bring your own handheld car or truck to drive along our tape roads in Tape Town with many stops along the way. Stop in anytime Saturday, February 17 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm to zoom around Tape Town. Geared for ages 2 yrs. - 6 yrs with an adult. No registration required. NEW!! Drop-In Family Master Builders Join us on President's Day for this Drop-In Family Master Builders time on Monday, February 19 from 10 am - 12 noon. No registration required. Use your imagination to build with LEGO, magnetic tiles, wooden blocks, Keva planks and more. NEW!! Preschool Discovery Centers Bring your little one to explore their creativity! No registration; this will be a self-directed activity. For ages Pre-K through K on Friday, February 23. We will have dinosaur activities in the Children's Activity Room from 11 am - 12 noon and 3:30 - 4: 30 pm. Waynesville Food Pantry Help support our local food pantry. Gather your donations and drop them off at MLC. Items needed: peanut butter, canned soup, individual fruit cups, tuna, canned chicken, granola bars.

Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! Parents: Stop at the front desk to request your 1000 books log sheet. For every 100 books your child reads they earn a free book and a sticker! When your child reaches 1000 books they will receive a free book and a certificate of achievement. Imagination Library Help us give every child in Warren County the gift of a free book every month! Talk to your friends & family and share our posts far and wide. Register at ohioimaginationlibrary.org. If you need assistance in registering your child, please contact us and we will help. The goal of the Warren County Imagination Library is "Every Child Reads Every Day", and to help achieve that goal, the five Warren County libraries are funding a three-year pilot program to provide a free book each month to Warren County children from birth to age five. The Warren County Imagination Library is a community effort of founding partners: Franklin-Springboro Public Library, Lebanon Public Library, Mary L. Cook Public Library, Mason Public Library, Salem Township Public Library, United Way of Warren County, and Warren County Foundation, with support from The Ohio Governor's Imagination Library and Dolly Parton Imagination Library. ADULT Adult Take and Make Valentine Paper Fortune Cookie Ages 16 and up, beginning Wednesday, January 31, pick up a Valentine paper fortune cookie kit. Each take and make kit will contain materials to make 2 fortune cookie valentines. A brief instruction card is included to help out, as well as a template and some valentine prompts in case you need a little help coming up with your message. The Mind-Life Project will be held Saturday, February 3 at 10 am with Dr. Brian Beckett, DMIN, MTS, and Director of Counseling, Cobblestone Church. Each month will be a different topic. The topic for February will be "The 8 Donts for a Happy Mind". Rootfinders Join us on Saturday, February 10 at 10 am for our genealogy gathering.

Adult Craft Night Sock Bunnies What's cute, fuzzy, and hops? If you guessed adorable bunnies, then you are correct! Join us in making cute, fuzzy sock bunnies on Friday, March 22 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm for our in-person craft night. Registration begins Monday, March 4. This craft night is for ages 16 and up and registration is required due to limited supplies. All materials will be provided, no experience necessary, and it's free! If you have questions regarding this program, please contact the library at 513-897-4826. Puzzle Swap/Puzzle Table We have a puzzle swap area near the Large Print book section. We have several puzzles available for you to look through to borrow. If you want to rotate your puzzle collection, bring one in and take one out. No checking out! We also have a puzzle currently available for you to sit down and work on while visiting here at the library. TEENS After School Tuesdays After school Tuesdays for teens in 6th-12th grade : food, fun and friends from 3 - 4 pm in the Community Room. Upcoming after school activities - no registration required.
